Rohan Army: 550-600 points

This army was designed around the battle at the fords of Isen. It received top painting marks and a best appearance award at a Chicago land tournament of ~30 participants from around the country.

The army was displayed in conjunction with a dunland and uruk force storming the fords. Most of the models have a resin water effect on the bases.

The cavalry was designed and converted from historical and gamesworkshop lines of models. The royal guard are conversions from different rohan heroes and custom cloak sculpting. The outriders are conversions from rangers of gondor with rohan infantry helms to give them the stock model look while also making them stand out.

The diorama display is available for purchase as well as the counter part dunland/uruk army to match them on the display if interested in the complete look.

The Shade of Christmas Past: Conversions

The previous spooky tower brought out some ghouls from the wood work. It is a couple weeks past halloween but this guy still wanted to go trick or treating.

The base for this model was 3.5 models technically, a bit of a mash up. It was a lot of fun sculpting this model and it was a great way to get some new looks on a model.
This 40mm conversion snagged a Best Conversion award at Bilbo's Birthday Bash and helped complete a big diorama in the previous post. The castle diorama was awarded a best overall in appearance and theme in a tough painted field.
Keep the requests coming and thanks again for all the support.

New Terrain Sample

Finished up a terrain display board piece that will be going into the terrain samples. Really happy with the final look and the stained wall finish.

The display piece measures 2x2 feet and close to 18 inches high.

It was a large undertaking dealing with many different effects of a diorama. Water effects, lighting, staining, and some new and exciting flocking materials all went into this.
Ah yes, and it lights up. Got my hands dirty with the Powered Play LED lighting kits and really pulled off some cool scenes. They have all colors imaginable and the snap circuit boards making lighting projects super easy.

The Big Cheese

The big cheese is here. Locking in the grand dwarf himself.
This big ole book of grudges finishes up the dwarf legion Wyrd has been working on over the past months. Really great to see the final unit all finished up and complete.

White Lights

Seeing the white light! Not really but I am seeing some scars... White Scars that is. Bulked out some tactical squads for an up and coming White Scars 40k army.

Models were supplied built and the client will be finishing up the basing.

These models are a painting level 2 on pre-built and pre-primed models.

Till next time!

The Last of the Samurai

47 Ronin! 13 Assassins! Tom Cruise! We have got it all. Well actually not that at all, but this was a special 20mm historical project.

200 Samurai and Ashigaru infantry showed up and were part of a hybrid commission. This is what Wyrd will refer to as a Base Coat Merc Job. We gathered up the A-Team and got Hannibal making a plan.

The client was looking for a base coat system, with some fun instructions as to randomizing colors for cool battle field realism.

Whew, the field trip to feudal Japan is over but it was a blast painting up some really nice miniatures. Again, this was a hybrid commission not listed in the pricing guidelines.

Cya next time!

Warhammer Dwarf Warriors

That is right, we are still here! Lots of projects here at Wyrd so do not worry, your calls will be answered, operators are standing by!
At this point some of you maybe seeing a theme in certain dwarves appearing... so yes, we begin to wrap up this massive dwarf army with a unit large unit of warriors and a couple mantic models as well.
It is great seeing an army really hit the finished stages as that means more time on the table top.
Like the other units you are looking at a level one painting and basing commission. Check back at older posts and the examples in the menus on the right for more shots.

Going Berzerk for Avatars of War!

Back again! Had a lot of fun with some recent avatars of war models. Got to get some orange paint on my hands with a mixed batch of level 1 and level 2 painting.

My favorite thing about these models is the flicking the bird left hand. I only wish there were some right hand ones for the ole double bird.

What would be a slayer regiment without some crazy heroes. Braveheart would be proud...

Really enjoyed the tattoo and face paint on these guys as well as the detailed metal work.

Stay tuned for, The Way of The Samurai...
